Facts have emerged why Bayelsa State Governor, Mr Seriake Dickson, is now on the side of the Senator Ali Modu Sheriff group in the ongoing crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and tackling the Senator Ahmed Makarfi group.

Checks by our correspondent revealed that Dickson is doing that to fight a sort of personality battle with two prominent members of the party, namely former President Goodluck Jonathan and Rivers State Governor, Mr Nyessom Wike.

Sources in the party said Dickson has not forgotten how he fell out with Jonathan before the 2015 general elections.

The Bayelsa governor is of the view that it was the defeat of Jonathan by Muhammadu Buhari that gave him the opportunity to seek re-election, otherwise, he could have been replaced as the PDP candidate by Jonathan.

The former president, it was gathered, is favorably disposed to aligning with the majority, which appears to be the Ahmed Makarfi group.

For Wike, Dickson is said to be uncomfortable with the high profile of the Rivers Governor in the PDP and feels he could be in another group or party to at least be the main voice.

Whoever wins at the Supreme Court between Makarfi and Sheriff will adversely affect the PDP one way or the other.

Both sides are looking forward to either forming another political party or joining another one if they lose.
