The Joint Task Force, JTF in Maiduguri said it has arrested Mr Mohammed Zangina, a high profile Boko Haram Commander.

Mr Zangina is said to be a member of the sect’s highest decision making organ, the Shura Committee .

According to report, he was picked up earlier today at the Government Reserved Area ,GRA, Maiduguri.

Zangina’s arrest comes a day after report of the arrest of another Boko Haram member ,Hassan Bukar in Gwarimpa ,Abuja  at the residence of a former lawmaker.

Bukar is believed to be in detention by the SSS.

In Maiduguri, JTF Spokesman , Lt Col Sagir Musa said  Zangina a.k.a Mallam Abdullahi who is often known as Alhaji Musa is the head of North Central part of Nigeria and he is also  coordinator of most of the suicide attacks and bombings in Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Jos and Potiskum.

He was picked up as he was  working on “several deadly attacks being planned against civilians and security personnel any moment from today”

Zangina was among those members of the sect that JTF had last year declared wanted.

A N25 million reward had been announced by the JTF for information that would lead to his capture.
