Patriot Dantes Odogwu.
That Dr. Cairo Ojougboh (Akinuwa) has suddenly become the toast of Channels TV on political issues bordering Delta State, APC and the Federal Government has left more sour taste in the mouths of both friends and foes.
His recent show during a Channel Television Programme on Thursday January 25, 2018 left Deltans and admirers all over the country with mouths agape and hands at akimbo, as our ‘Akinuwa’ made a national disgrace of what was left of his political self after decamping from PDP.
What makes it more painful is the fact that he has suddenly become a shadow of his politically boisterous and intelligent personality by his inability to understand simple questions. To our surprise, Dr Ojougboh has suddenly become a stammerer in his struggle to repaint the truth, defend lies and demean the person of Gov. Okowa for reasons best known to him.
Not only does he stammer and lie, he remains so unsettled, jittery and agitated while trying to respond to simple questions.
In all interviews so far with Channels TV, the supposed political giant would entirely veer off from matters under focus and begin to talk in vague terms, which has often irritated the interviewers with a call on him not to evade the question.
After such call on him, he begins to say things like Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh! and nod his head in a manner symbolic of a small child who is being taught how to speak. ‘Akinuwa, Kiror’? We just hope the problem is actually not what some persons are beginning to think.
Does it not bother the APC and Ika nation that their son, a supposed exposed political juggernaut, could not proffer answer to a question asked by journalist with respect to insecurity in Nigeria? To the surprise of listeners and admirers, Dr. Cairo began to rant about the arming of Anti-Cult Force in Agbor by Dr. Okowa. What a national disgrace!
Does the Chief Security Officer of a State not reserve the right to work in tandem with security agencies, within constitutional boundaries, to beef up security in the State? Has community policing become an aberration?
Even when it is common knowledge that APC would graciously accept all the spent forces in PDP as Party leaders immediately they decamp from PDP, has Dr. Cairo not taken his desperation so far, just to be given a position?
Anyway, I heard he has been made Delta State Co-ordinator of APC Elders Forum (it amazes me where such position came from and the duties required of him).
Who Knows? Probably one of the terms of reference for the ridiculous position is to ensure that he criticizes Dr. Okowa to high heavens even if it demands belittling oneself.
Oh! It could also be that he has been assured of a chance to fly the gubernatorial ticket of APC, Delta State because immediately after the disgraceful outing with Channels TV, a group visited him to request that he takes a shot at the gubernatorial contest. Oh! Akinuwa, what a cheap way of deceiving a once admired political icon.
If I am permitted to continue as a clairvoyant, especially as one conversant with the antecedence of Dr. Ojougboh, it is obvious that he is not satisfied with that position; hence, this continuous show of shame on National Television.
In the depth of Akinuwa’s heart, I know that his target is to unseat all the old players in his new party to become the object of focus in Delta State APC.
We are watching to see how he would unseat Olorgun Otega Emerhor, Prophet Jones Erue, Enuha and other known stakeholders through this puerile approach.
As an advice to Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, there is need for you to avoid rushing to Press unprepared, in order not to continually present yourself as a blabber before young interviewers on Channels TV. You were once an admired personality, who knew his onions and commanded respect politically wherever you went.
This abysmal performance of yours suggests that a lot has happened that are beyond the general view because the mighty (Dr. Cairo) has fallen.
You may wish to adopt another strategy because this one has totally denigrated you politically before your contemporary, admirers and foes.
