The bid by followers of Senator Buruji Kashamu in Ekiti State to stop the leadership of the South-West from partaking in the national convention of the party failed on Monday as the Court of Appeal in Ado-Ekiti granted an interim order staying the national execution of some orders granted by a Federal High Court.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Ado-Ekiti had early November restrained the Eddy Olafeso-led executive from parading themselves as the executive of the party in the zone.

Followers of Kashamu-led by Makanjuola Ogundipe are claiming to be the authentic leaders of the party in the zone, and secured orders from Justice Taiwo.

However, the Olafeso executive that was constituted in May last year, appealed the decision and called for a stay of execution of the orders.

The Appeal Court panel granted the reliefs sought by Olafeso and adjourned the matter to January 15, 2018.

This has paved the way for Olafeso and his group to take active part in the coming convention.
