The Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Segun Adewunmi, ?may be relieved of his position, while another lawmaker, Gboyega Aribisogan, is set to face a long period of suspension.

This followed the decision by their colleagues to punish them over allegation of disloyalty.

Checks by our correspondent on Monday showed that the spirited efforts by friends and some colleagues of Adewunmi to placate Governor Ayodele Fayose to forgive him have not yielded positive results.

The lawmakers were accused of holding secret meetings with some political elements? seen as antagonists of Governor Fayose.

While Adewunmi has been trying since last week to pacify the governor and making himself prominent at state functions, Aribisogan has not been seen in such events since.

Though Aribisogan is reportedly in the state, he has kept a very low profile since the issue became public.

Aribisogan is the Chairman of the House Committee on Information and is seen as a Fayose man until the current trouble broke out.

?The House is expected to sit on Tuesday.
