Exclusive: Strange Ailment Bars Ondo Speaker From Public Functions

A strange ailment has restricted the Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Samuel Adesina from attending public functions, FrontiersNews can authoritatively revealed.

The Speaker has not presided over the proceedings in the state Assembly in the last two months following the said ailment.

Mr. Adesina has also been absent in many state functions as his deputy, Mr. Dare Omiola had been playing his role in both the assembly and government functions.

In the history of Ondo State, Mr. Adesina is the first speaker that has spent three years in that position without being impeached by his colleagues.

He is also the first legislator that would be voted by his people to represent them in the state assembly for three consecutive terms.

The Speaker, according to an impeccable source is said to be suffering from a strange ailment which has defiled all medication.

The source said the speaker could no longer perform his normal duties again as he is now a regular visitor to spiritualist as he is being taken from one spiritual home to another.

Although many of his colleagues have continued to claim that all is well with the speaker, but his absence at most functions have confirmed that all may not be well with him.

However, another source said that the Speaker is responding to treatment and that he would be presiding again on the floor of the assembly any moment from now.

Mr. Adesina was a member of the People’s Democratic Party before he defected to the Labour Party on April 8, 2010 to pave way for his emergence as speaker of the assembly.

He had since escaped many impeachment plots due to his closeness to the state Governor, Olusegun Mimiko who has always shielded him.

Mimiko was said to have played prominent role in the election of Adesina as the speaker.
