Property belonging to the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Mrs Patient Jonathan, was on Tuesday demolished by agents of the Ministry of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).

The property, a two story building and two bungalows, located in Mabushi area of the FCT, were levelled by the bulldozer of men of the development control of the FCDA.

It was gathered that men of the department with a combined team of police and the military numbering over 100 invaded the property, at about 2pm, on Tuesday and forcefully entered the property and demolished them.

Our correspondent gathered that the FCT authority carried out the demolition order on the grounds that the said property did not get the requisite certification, a claim disputed by the lawyer to Mrs. Jonathan.

A source close to the Jonathans said the property in question got the necessary approval and that when the department first attempted to demolition the property, Mrs. Jonathan took them to court.

Our correspondent was told that the FCDA however defiled the court order to execute the demolition order.
