The eagle eye of the nation’s security apparatus paid off Saturday night as the security forces uncovered and detained a Ukrainian cargo plane fully loaded with military weapons at the Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano.

FrontiersNews gathered that the cargo plane landed late Saturday night and was found to contain weapons.

It would be recalled that the security forces about two weeks ago uncovered an armoury in Kano with cache of arms that security watchers believed were enough to level down a whole state.

The destination and recipient of the weapons carried by the Ukrainian cargo plane is yet to be verified as at press time.

The nation has been at war with the radical Boko Haram terrorist sect which have killed over 5,000 innocent Nigerians and it is not likely the weapons were supplied to further pursue their terrorist activities.

Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta [MEND] rebels who on Saturday resumed hostilities in Abaji in the outskirt of Abuja, the Federal Capital City still retain organizational formation in the southern creeks of the country and could be possible recipients too.

Security experts also hinted that new groups cannot be excluded as militia groups have kept springing up in the country.
